Yes. The course is available both online and on-campus at Burwood (Melbourne). Deakin's blend of online and on-campus learning means you can balance work, study and personal development, with both Trimester 1 (March) and Trimester 2 (July) intakes available at both locations.
As part of your studies, you can undertake work-integrated learning through your choice of electives. The Applied Heritage Project unit is developed in consultation with industry partners and gives you an opportunity to work in a team on a specific heritage project. If you want to develop workplace skills, gain industry knowledge and extend your professional networks, you can choose to complete an Internship A (APE700) unit where you will undertake a professional work placement within a host organisation in Australia or overseas. Note that units containing work integrated learning or community placement may require a police check, Working with Children Check or other check.
Yes. Successful completion of the Graduate Diploma of Museum Studies qualifies your entry into the one year (8 credit point version) of the Master of Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies (A768). The Graduate Certificate of Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies, Graduate Diploma of Museum Studies, and Master of Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies comprise a suite of fully articulated courses. The Graduate Diploma also has an alternate exit to the Graduate Certificate of Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies (A568).
Yes. The University aims to provide students with as much credit as possible for approved prior study or informal learning which exceeds the normal entrance requirements. Students are required to complete a minimum of one-third of the course at Deakin University, or four credit points, whichever is greater. Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies, for example, leads to entry into the Graduate Diploma with up to 4 credit points of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Applications for credit transfer are considered depending on the quality and subject matter of the student's prior qualifications and professional experience.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
