About This Course

This one-year course, offered in Hobart with the option to study part-time over two years, is designed for health and science graduates who want to build a career in the pharmaceutical industry or regulatory organisations. You’ll gain a strong foundation in pharmaceutical science through practical, hands-on lab sessions that focus on techniques used around the world. The course helps you develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while also improving your written and verbal communication. With a high staff-to-student ratio, you’ll benefit from close academic support and build meaningful connections with your lecturers. You’ll also explore the global context of pharmaceuticals and consider the social and ethical issues that shape the field.

Students will complete 100 credit points (4 units), comprised of four 25 credit points coursework units.

General Requirements

Domestic students:

Applicants must have successfully completed a health-based (e.g., Pharmacy, Biomedical, Nursing, Laboratory Medicine, Dentistry, Medicine, Biology, Microbiology) or science-based (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology) AQF 7 Bachelor degree or equivalent.

International students:

International applicants must meet the English Language requirement of IELTS 6.5 with no individual band less than 6.0.
