Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology

Admission requires successful completion of a bachelor's degree with an extended major in psychology (a 60 credit point APAC-approved Level 1 sequence, i.e. a 10-unit sequence) from any course accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC), with at least a distinction (70%) average in third-year psychology. Applicants with international qualifications need their qualifications assessed by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) or another assessment body approved by the Psychology Board of Australia. English entry requirements (Level F): IELTS (Academic) 7.0 overall (Listening 7.0, Reading 7.0, Writing 6.5, Speaking 7.0) or PTE (Academic) 66 overall (Listening 66, Reading 66, Speaking 66, Writing 58) or TOEFL iBT 98 overall (0-120 scale: Reading 24, Listening 24, Speaking 23, Writing 24) or Cambridge (C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency) 185 overall.

The course serves as the APAC-accredited fourth year in psychology, providing the pathway to advanced postgraduate study in psychology at master's or doctoral level (such as the Master of Professional Psychology), or to undertake supervised psychological practice — a required step toward general registration as a psychologist in Australia.
