About This Course

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply advanced knowledge and skills in a range of strategic leadership and management roles. Individuals at this level make high level autonomous decisions and use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions in varied contexts. BSB80320 Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership course provides the opportunity to people to make high-level decision and provide them skill and knowledge to use judgement and initiative to implement leadership and management responsibilities. They are accountable to analyse information from a range of sources to create solutions to complex problems and create strategies for improvement by consolidating and synthesising knowledge.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Be of the age of 18 years or over at the time of applying for admission.
Have an overall IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent in line with Department of Home Affairs regulations, OR have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
Have completed a bachelor's degree in related fields of study and 2 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.
OR have five years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.
Mature age students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements but with relevant work experience within chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet course requirements.
English Language Requirements (students whose first language is not English must provide one of the following):
- IELTS score 6.0 minimum (no lower than 6.0 in each band)
- TOEFL Paper-based (PBT) score of 547
- TOEFL Internet-based (IBT) score 78
- TOEIC score 780
- PTE Score 52
Basic Computer Skills: Knowledge of common computing terms and word processing; proficiency with web browser software and sending/receiving e-mail including e-mail with attachment; familiarity with navigating the Internet; familiarity with using Microsoft Office.
Each student must complete the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Indicator Tool.
Each student must provide their USI (Unique Student Identifier) before they are to commence their studies.

In this unit, students are required to consult with stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate the corporate social responsibility policy in an organisation. Students will need to identify and establish CSR.

How is the Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership delivered?

The course is delivered in a blended mode — 75% face to face (trainer led sessions with in-class experiential activities) and 25% online via Moodle. In each term at least one unit is taught face to face. The program runs Monday and Tuesday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Wednesday 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, totalling 20 hours per week in class plus 10 hours per week self-study.

What are the entry requirements for the BSB80320 Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership?

Applicants must be 18 years or over and meet one of the following academic pathways: a completed bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2 years of full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant leadership level, OR five years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no band below 6.0) or equivalent English proficiency is also required for non-native English speakers.

How long does the Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership take to complete?

The program is delivered over 52 weeks full-time, comprising 40 weeks of term time and 12 weeks in term breaks, with classes running 20 hours per week in the classroom/online.

How are students assessed in this course?

Assessments are competency based. Each unit comprises assessment tasks such as Written Knowledge Assessments, Projects, Case Studies, Practical Demonstrations, and Assessor Observations, which must be completed in full before being submitted for marking. Once a student receives a satisfactory result for all required assessment tasks, a Competent (C) outcome is awarded. Students have three (3) attempts to demonstrate competency, otherwise a unit re-enrolment fee applies.

Can I receive credit for previous study or work experience?

Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer may be offered to any learner who can provide evidence of competency for the units offered within this qualification. RPL and Credit Transfer must be processed and approved before the starting of the course.
