For the Graduate Diploma of Writing and Publishing, postgraduate applicants must meet RMIT's minimum English language requirements. These include a VCE study score of at least 30 in EAL or at least 25 in English, Literature or English Language, or an equivalent qualification. No, IELTS (General) is not accepted for admission into RMIT university programs. Only IELTS (Academic) or IELTS (Academic) One Skill Retake are accepted, with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 and no band less than 6.0 for postgraduate degrees.
English language proficiency test scores are valid for 2 years from the test date. Tests that fall outside this validity period will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, RMIT does not accept scores from 'at-home' or 'online' testing.
Yes, post-secondary study can be used to satisfy the English language entry requirement for postgraduate coursework degrees at RMIT. Applicants must have satisfactorily completed 2 undergraduate level courses equivalent to at least 24 RMIT University credit points, or satisfactorily completed an AQF accredited award at certificate IV or above (or equivalent).
