You can start the UEC IELTS Preparation course at the start of any week — any Monday that suits your future study plans. You can enroll for as little as 2 weeks and a maximum of 15 weeks. If you know the English language level required for your destination course, UEC can help you determine how long you should study to have the best chance of getting the score you need.
Every day you will speak English with your classmates in pairs and small groups as well as with the whole class. You'll read and listen to academic articles and lectures to improve your reading and listening skills. Your teacher will help you learn grammar and vocabulary, which you'll use in speaking and writing activities just like those in the actual test. You will also spend a lot of time working directly on the IELTS test, breaking down each test and task type so you know how they work and how to answer them effectively and efficiently.
To join the UEC IELTS Preparation course, your English must be at least Intermediate level — the equivalent of an IELTS 4.5 test score (or IELTS 5.0 / Upper Intermediate score on the UEC Placement test, or completion of UEC Intermediate level). You must also be over 16 years old for the Day timetable and 18 years old for the Evening timetable. You will need to complete the UEC placement test, take a UEC General English course, or provide evidence of another test showing you are at this level.
The course has a core book that is the basis of learning activities — you will receive a copy to use and keep, and when you change level, you'll get a new book for that level too. You will also need pens, pencils, and notebooks for taking notes in class. All lessons utilise online resources, so you should have your own laptop or tablet to access these resources. While you can take the course without a laptop or tablet, having one makes it much easier and more effective to learn.
Students who successfully complete the IELTS Preparation course can join the UEC Cambridge Exam Preparation course or the Academic English Program. The level achieved in the IELTS Preparation course will determine which level of Academic English Program or Cambridge Exam Preparation a student can enter. Some colleges will also allow students to enter vocational qualification courses with a UEC IELTS Preparation course certificate if the student has shown an appropriate proficiency level. UEC has been helping graduates find and start courses at colleges and universities in Australia for more than 30 years.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
