The Juris Doctor can be completed in two calendar years (six semesters) at Bond University, thanks to Bond's accelerated three-semesters-per-year timetable. This is shorter than the Bachelor of Laws, which takes eight semesters.
Yes. The Juris Doctor program satisfies the academic requirements for admission as a legal practitioner. Bond University's Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP) satisfies the practical training requirements for admission, which means your entire journey towards becoming a lawyer can be completed at Bond.
Students can choose from specialisations including Corporate and Commercial Law and Practice, International Business and Finance Law, Dispute Resolution, Canadian Law and Practice, Legal Innovation and Technology, and Climate Law.
While studying the Juris Doctor, students have the opportunity to gain work experience either in the Bond Legal Clinics Program or through the various legal work experience opportunities offered by the Career Development Centre. Students can also participate in a world-class mooting program renowned for its national and global accolades, furthering advocacy skills in both Australian and international contexts.
Yes. On completion of the Juris Doctor degree, graduates can continue their studies into a Master of Laws program in the Faculty of Law and may be eligible for credit depending on the Master program they enrol into, potentially completing the Master of Laws in just two semesters.
