There are two entry points for the degree. For graduates with academic or employment backgrounds in economics or agricultural economics, there is a fast-track program that consists of 12 units completed over 18 months. For those who wish to change careers and do not have a background in economics, agricultural economics or business, there is a comprehensive program of 16 units completed over 24 months that develops your skills rapidly in the first six months.
The course structure includes a range of options: a Conversion pathway, Core units, and optional pathways including Coursework and Dissertation or Coursework Only. There are also three specialisations available: Agribusiness, Development, and Production and Resource Economics.
Yes, this course is subsidised for Australian residents through Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP). Student contribution amounts are charged by unit based on area of study, and fees are subject to annual indexation. UWA recommends using their fee calculator to get an estimate of course fees.
