Requirements

16 credit points (standard entry): Completion of a bachelor degree or higher in any discipline.
12 credit points (with 4 credit points RPL): Completion of a bachelor degree or higher in a related discipline; OR completion of a bachelor degree or higher in any discipline and at least two years' relevant work experience (or part-time equivalent).
8 credit points (with 8 credit points RPL): Completion of a graduate certificate or graduate diploma in a related discipline; OR completion of a bachelor honours degree in a related discipline; OR completion of a bachelor degree in a related discipline and at least two years' of relevant work experience (or part-time equivalent).
Examples of related disciplines and relevant work experience include, but are not limited to, the broad field of Information Technology, artificial intelligence, business intelligence, business analytics, computational mathematics and machine learning.
English language proficiency: Bachelor degree from a recognised English-speaking country; OR IELTS overall score of 6.5 (with no band score less than 6.0) or equivalent; OR other evidence of English language proficiency.
Recognition of Prior Learning will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be granted based on prior studies and/or equivalent industry experience.

How many credit points do I need to complete the Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence, and can I get credit for prior learning?

To complete the Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence, you must pass 8, 12 or 16 credit points. The number required may vary depending on your entry point or how much credit you receive as recognition of prior learning (RPL) based on your professional experience and previous qualifications. Recognition of Prior Learning will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Where can I study this course and what are the available intakes?

The Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence is available at Waurn Ponds (Geelong) and Online. There are three intakes per year: Trimester 1 starting in March, Trimester 2 starting in July, and Trimester 3 starting in November — all available at both Waurn Ponds (Geelong) and Online.

What are the fees for this course?

The estimated tuition fee for a full-fee paying place is $34,400 for 1 year full-time. For students in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), the estimated tuition fee is $8,937 for 1 year full-time (HECS). These are estimates based on a typical combination of units and may vary depending on the units you choose, your study load, and any approved Recognition of Prior Learning.

What practical learning opportunities are available in this course?

The course provides practical learning that mirrors real-world scenarios, utilising state-of-the-art software, robotics, VR, and cyber-physical systems in fully equipped labs and studios. You may also have an opportunity to undertake a placement, and you may choose to use one of your elective units to undertake an internship or participate in an overseas study tour to enhance your global awareness and experience.
