Common Questions
Students can exit with a Graduate Certificate in FinTech Management after completing Term 1 (four core units), or with a Graduate Diploma in FinTech Management after completing Term 2 (eight core units in total).
To qualify for the degree of Master of Applied Financial Technology and Blockchain, a student must complete all 16 core units. All units are weighted at six credit points each, totalling 96 credit points.
Assessment methods are designed to encourage learning, provide feedback and measure achievement of unit learning outcomes. Forms of assessment vary among units and include research reports, projects, essays, group work, presentations, problem solving and case studies as well as tests, quizzes and examinations. Students may be required to complete assessment tasks alone or in groups. Assessments generally require a written submission but may include an oral presentation. In capstone units, assessments may include industry engagement and an extensive report.
Yes, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available and will be assessed in accordance with IMC's RPL policy and procedure. Students can refer to the Application for Recognition of Prior Learning and the RPL policy and procedure for further details.
In the final term, students can choose between two capstone options: TBUS620 Business Strategy Capstone or TRES600 Business Research Project. The research capstone (TRES600) can lead to a higher level of research-based study for further career development. Prerequisites apply to both units, and they are only available in the final term of study.
