About This Course

At Monash, you'll learn from the best minds in the field and take part in research that's breaking new ground, gaining specialist knowledge and adaptability to work at the forefront of AI. You'll be trained to design, develop and operate AI-based products and intelligent systems to boost progress in healthcare, science, agriculture, education, manufacturing, law, financial services and more. Key topics include deep learning, knowledge representation and reasoning, and modern optimisation techniques, along with the expertise to implement ethics in AI and inform best practices. This course is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS), and Monash is the only member of the prestigious Group of Eight to offer it. Students wishing to exit early can complete with a Graduate Certificate of Artificial Intelligence or Graduate Diploma of Artificial Intelligence.

General Requirements

Entry Level 1 (96 points, 2yr FT/4yr PT): any Australian bachelor degree (not necessarily IT) at 60%+ (credit) average.
Entry Level 2 (72 points, 1.5yr FT/3yr PT): bachelor degree in an IT-cognate discipline, or engineering/science with substantial IT content (Python, algorithms, databases, computer architecture, OS, networks) and relevant maths (calculus, linear algebra, probability/statistics), at 60%+ average.
English language requirement (IELTS Academic or equivalent): overall 6.5, minimum band scores Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0, Speaking 6.0.
