Common Questions
Students can choose to specialise in one of five areas: Social Sciences, Indigenous Knowledges and Engagement, Indigenous Languages and Contemporary Social Issues, Indigenous Research Practice, or Creative Arts. In addition to these specialisations, students can select a Research Option to develop research skills and gain research experience alongside their coursework studies.
The course takes 2 years full-time or 4 years part-time to complete, and requires 160 credit points in total.
The annual tuition fee for full time study in 2026 is AUD $37,672.00, which equates to $4,709.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year. CDU also offers a number of scholarships to international students to assist with the cost of study.
Yes. The Master of Arts (Coursework) offers the usual preparation for students seeking a pathway into Higher Degree by Research programs, such as a Master by Research or a Doctor of Philosophy. Students who select the Research Option or Creative Arts Research Option may be particularly well equipped for entry into future HDR programs, depending on the entry requirements of the institution.
Applicants must have successfully completed a recognised bachelor degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, master's degree, or equivalent international qualification. International applicants who have completed the CDU International Masters Qualifying Program (ZMQP01) or the Accelerated International Masters Qualifying Program (ZAMQP1) are also eligible for entry. All applicants must also satisfy the University's English language requirements.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
