About This Course

In our Master of Bioethics, you will study a postgraduate coursework degree with leading scholars in the field of bioethics. Our faculty members, based at Sydney Health Ethics, have a wide range of expertise, research interests, and professional backgrounds. We are made up of sociologists, pharmacists, public health experts, philosophers, historians, and medical doctors. To be awarded the degree, you will complete core units in moral theory, philosophy of medicine and applied ethics, and will finish with a capstone project. Students with a credit average in four Core and Part 1 coursework units are eligible to complete their degree via the research pathway. This course meets the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) continuing professional development standards. This program is directed by Dr Kathryn MacKay and coordinated by Dr Hojjat Soofi.

Resumé including your education and employment history
A statement of intent specifying the reason(s) why you would like to apply for this program and how do you think it will be beneficial to you after completing the program
Proof of identity: a valid passport (biodata page). Alternatively, an Australian birth certificate or Australian or New Zealand citizenship certificate for domestic students
Current or final official academic transcripts and their official English translation copy if the original transcripts were issued in a language other than English. Currently enrolled University of Sydney students do not need to provide a copy of their transcript(s)
Credit transcript(s) may be required if you were granted credit for studies previously undertaken
Final testamur or proof of completion of your qualification and its official English translation copy if it was issued in a language other than English
Proof of English proficiency (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL results) where required
For courses with mandatory prerequisites, official detailed unit outlines for all prerequisite units in your studies which you believe will meet the prerequisite requirements
