Master of Biomedical and Health Science

Minimum Entry Requirements (International students), 2 entry-point structure: Entry level 1 (96 points, 2 years full-time) — an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Science or other related areas of study with a credit (60%) average. Entry level 2 (48 points, 1 year full-time) — an Australian bachelor honours degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Science or other related areas of study with a high credit (65%) average. Related areas of study include Biomedical Sciences (anatomy, biochemistry, bioengineering, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, clinical medicine, dental science, developmental biology, dietetics, genetics, immunology, medicine, microbiology, molecular biology, nutrition, pharmacology, pharmacy, physiology, veterinary science), Life Sciences (biology, zoology), and Allied Health (physiotherapy, occupational therapy). Where an applicant has the equivalent of a 3-year Australian bachelor degree in a non-related discipline, the selection panel will also consider relevant and significant work experience for Entry level 1. English entry requirements (Level B): IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall (Listening 6.5, Reading 6.5, Writing 6.0, Speaking 6.0) or PTE (Academic) 58 overall (Listening 58, Reading 58, Speaking 50, Writing 50) or TOEFL iBT 79 overall (0-120 scale: Reading 19, Listening 20, Speaking 18, Writing 21).

The course provides the foundation to pursue high-impact career pathways across research, industry and health innovation, whether extending an existing scientific background, transitioning into a new biomedical discipline, or preparing for graduate research (including PhD entry). Specialisation areas such as cancer biology, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, metabolism and obesity, regenerative medicine and neuroscience support careers in biomedical research, the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, and health innovation, supported by an industry training and internship unit.
