About This Course

The Master of Biostatistics (Enhanced) is a four-semester (2-year) course providing advanced biostatistical training with a strong foundation in mathematics and probability, building on the Master of Biostatistics with a further 6 months of study for greater depth or breadth. Students complete 5 core subjects, 9 electives, and either a 25-point research project or a 12.5-point research project plus the Longitudinal and Correlated Data capstone selective. Accredited by the Statistical Society of Australia (SSA). Note: Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are not available for domestic students in this course.

General Requirements

Domestic and international:

A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an approved university in a directly related discipline (statistics, mathematics, biomedicine, psychology, science, pharmacy, health sciences, economics, or equivalent) with a WAM of at least 65% or equivalent
Successful completion of at least one tertiary-level mathematics subject covering multivariable calculus and linear algebra, with a WAM of at least 65% or equivalent (e.g. Calculus 1/2, Linear Algebra, Accelerated Maths 1/2, or Mathematics & Statistics for Biomedicine)
May be required to sit a test, attend an interview, and/or provide referee reports or employer references
English requirement: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0), TOEFL 81, PTE 64, Cambridge 169, LanguageCert Academic 67, Michigan English Test 58
