RMIT offers postgraduate courses across Semester 1 (commencing February 2026), Semester 2 (commencing July 2026), and a select number of courses for Semester 3 (commencing approximately October/November 2026). You should check the specific course page for confirmed intake availability for the Master of Biotechnology.
International students can apply via RMIT's online Application Portal, either directly or through an authorised RMIT education agent. You will need to submit academic transcripts, graduation certificates, evidence of English language proficiency, and any other required documents. Applicants from some countries are required to apply through an authorised agent and may need to pay an application fee.
You must demonstrate English language proficiency through an accepted test (such as IELTS, TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic), through studies completed at an accepted English language provider, or by holding a recognised qualification. Specific minimum scores for the Master of Biotechnology are listed on the individual course page. If you do not yet have a valid test result, you can still submit your application and provide results later.
Yes, credit for previous study may be recognised at RMIT and may reduce the duration of your qualification. You should apply for credit when completing your application and submit supporting documents such as transcripts and course outlines for assessment. Credit outcomes are communicated in your letter of offer.
You will need to provide academic transcripts and graduation certificates from all previous qualifications (in both native language and English translation, as certified copies or verified digital statements), evidence of English language proficiency, a copy of your passport or identification (if available), and any other course-specific documents. A Curriculum Vitae may be required if you have a study gap of more than 12 months, and a Genuine Student Statement of Purpose may also be required.
If you need a student visa (subclass 500), RMIT recommends that you apply and accept your offer at least 4–8 weeks before your course start date. This allows sufficient time for application assessment, visa processing, and arrival in Australia. If your course requires selection tasks or credit assessments, you should apply as early as possible.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
