Applicants must have completed a bachelor degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant discipline with honours, or an equivalent qualification. The degree must include a research component — such as a thesis, research project, or research methodology courses — equivalent to at least 25% of a full-time academic year. A credit average in the final year of study is also expected. Applicants with relevant academic qualifications and/or professional experience that demonstrates sufficient research capability may also be considered.
