General Requirements

You can use your professional experience, previous university study or a combination of both to progress into an MBA.
Entry pathways include: Graduate Certificate in Business (4 units, for those without a bachelor degree), Graduate Diploma in Business (8 units total), or direct entry into the Master of Business Administration (12 units total).
Credit for recognised learning (CRL) lets you use previous study or work experience towards your MBA — if your past learning or expertise in your job matches MBA units, you can complete fewer units.
You may also gain CRL towards your MBA with an eligible Executive Education short course (e.g. a one-day Masterclass, five-day Masterclass series or a bespoke program such as Ignition).
Fast-track options are available via CRL from prior postgraduate study.

How long does it take to complete the MBA part-time?

Most part-time students gain their MBA within two or three years, depending on how many units they complete each trimester.

Can I study the Curtin MBA fully online?

Yes. The Curtin MBA can be completed fully online or in a blended format with in-person intensive units. Online students complete the same assessments and receive the same support as on-campus students, with five optional live sessions per trimester recorded for convenience.

Is financial support available for the Curtin MBA?

Yes. You may be eligible for the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP), which allows you to defer paying your fees until your income reaches the repayment threshold. Curtin also offers a range of scholarships including the Women in MBA Scholarship (covering 40% of tuition fees), the Rob Riley Memorial Scholarship (full tuition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students), a Curtin Alumni Scholarship (15% discount on first-year tuition), and an Alumni and Family Scholarship (25% discount for eligible international students).

When can I start the Curtin MBA and how does the trimester system work?

Curtin's trimester system allows for three study periods per year. You can start your MBA in January, May or September. This trimester format also lets you complete more units each year than in a standard semester, helping you finish your MBA sooner.
