ACU emphasises learning in the real world, not just in the classroom: Microsoft certification is embedded into units in the degree, so you graduate with a strong foundation in the Microsoft programs favoured by employers, and all units are embedded with the United Nations sustainable goals. You have the opportunity to develop your consulting skills in applied business contexts and to engage with international partners through the Global Virtual Classroom, and the course includes opportunities to link with industry and apply your learning to your current job through applied assessment options. You build a strong foundation through core business units, then take four electives to shape your own pathway, either mixing and matching electives for a customised MBA or specialising in a stream such as Accounting and Finance, Information Technology, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE), or Research. Within just one year you can complete the MBA by applying for open elective credit from relevant postgraduate study from another institution; alternatively you can choose electives in any field at ACU, such as health management, educational leadership or theology. The degree comprises 160 credit points over two years full-time or the equivalent part-time, and students may exit early with the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration or the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. The MBA is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB), an accreditation held by all business courses at the Peter Faber Business School and by six per cent of business schools worldwide.
