The course requires 16 units (160 credit points) delivered over 2 years. There are 10 core units, 5 specialisation units, and 1 project-based unit. The course also offers nested qualifications and exit awards: the Graduate Certificate of Business Administration (6 months full-time) and the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (Business Analytics) (1 year full-time), in addition to the full Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics).
The course has intakes in February, March, May, June, August, September, October, and November. The next Key Date is 2026 Semester 1, Block 4, with the start of classes on 1 June 2026 and enrolment closing on 1 June 2026. The course is offered at two campuses: Sydney (Level 3 & 4, 545 Kent Street, NSW 2000) and Melbourne (Level 1, 20 Queen Street, VIC 3000).
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent to enrol. However, students without assumed knowledge in mathematical or quantitative skills will need to complete MBA4000 Statistics for Professionals in the first Block of the course. Please note this unit is completed at the student's own cost.
Graduates of the MBA (Business Analytics) can pursue roles such as Business Analyst, Business Consultant, Business Manager, and Operations Manager. The qualification also meets the academic requirements for admission to Doctorate courses within Australia and overseas, subject to additional institution and course-specific requirements.
The Practical Industry Projects (PIP) is the Capstone unit, delivered in two parts (MBA5015a and MBA5015b), in partnership with Practera. Students work in groups of up to six on real-world business challenges for industry clients, guided by a client mentor and lecturer. Upon completion, students receive certification and a digital badge. To enrol in MBA5015a, students must first complete MBA4007 (Data Visualisation & Business Reporting) and MBA4008 (Business Analytics Reporting). MBA5015b requires prior completion of MBA5015a.
