Master of Business Administration (Information Systems)

The Master of Business Administration (Information Systems) develops graduate Business Managers and Information Systems specialist who are ready to participate in business as generalists. Graduates are prepared to be an effective conduit between both the information technology specialists and the key decision makers in the business. This program takes an interdisciplinary approach to provide work-ready graduates with real world skills. With themes of business intelligence, systems analysis and design, research and data systems projects and strategic planning. The MBA(IS) has a practical and interdisciplinary focus with the themes of four main areas: Soft Skills – develops a range of foundation and soft skills including Adaptability, Collaboration, Analytical Skills, and Industry and Occupation Skills; Contextual Specialisation – students are then introduced to the foundations of Information Systems (IS), project management and business process management in relation to IS; Technical Expertise – digital knowledge and skills are critical to students developing skills to being a conduit between the information systems specialists in business and the more business-oriented members of an organisation; and Professionalism and Practice – research based Project and management, systems analysis, business intelligence and finally a professional practice, project based Unit to integrate all areas.
