Yes. The MBA (Professional Accounting) combines management studies with a sequence of accounting and related units that meet the requirements for provisional membership of Chartered Accountants ANZ and associate membership of CPA Australia. Graduates are also eligible to enrol in the professional qualifying programs of both bodies, which can lead to a career as a qualified accountant in industry or professional practice.
The MBA (Professional Accounting) takes 2 years full-time or 4 years part-time. Note that international students are required to maintain a full-time study load on a campus basis.
Yes. Students who complete Term 1 (four core units: Marketing Management, Individual, Group and Organisational Behaviour, Principles of Accounting, and Economic Environment of Business) may exit with a Graduate Certificate in Business before continuing to the full Master of Business Administration (Professional Accounting).
Applicants must meet the IELTS Academic English language requirement of a minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual band less than 6.0.
Assessment methods are designed to encourage learning, provide feedback and measure achievement of unit learning outcomes. Forms of assessment vary among units and include research reports, projects, essays, group work, presentations, problem solving and case studies as well as tests, quizzes and examinations. Students may be required to complete assessment tasks alone or in groups. In capstone units, assessments may include industry engagement and an extensive report.
