About This Course

Organisations are generative and capturing more data than ever before, but the advantage comes from knowing how to analyse it, build reliable models and communicate insights clearly to create measureable impact. Employers across every industry are looking for graduates who can use data and AI to solve real business problems and drive better decisions. The Master of Business Analytics equips you with the essential skills to undertake real-world analytics work on contemporary business problems, with a strong focus on AI, machine learning, and modern analytics methods and software. You will develop capability across the full analytics lifestyle, from preparing and managing data, building dashboards and visual stories, through to applying descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics, including forecasting, optimisation and AI-driven customer and operational insights. You’ll gain hands-on experience with widely used industry tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, SAS Viya and advanced Excel, preparing you to lead analytics initiatives in modern organisations. You can combine a Master of Business Analytics with another business master's degree through our double master’s program. Students who complete this program will earn two master’s degrees in two years and build expertise in two in demand areas of business. Fee subsidised places available Throughout the degree, you will be supported by our dedicated student support services built around your individual needs. Our student advisors, academic staff and careers consultant are available each week for advice and guidance. Domestic students have the option to study on campus or via distance delivery mode. Distance refers to learning activities that do not require you to attend campus but instead allow you to join pre-scheduled virtual classes. Distance delivery is not available for international students. UOW also offers a variety of scholarships available for both Domestic and International students ranging from 10% to 100%, so you can invest in your future.

General Requirements

Domestic Students

A recognised bachelor’s degree in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%, OR A Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%, OR A recognised master’s degree in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%. Other tertiary qualifications, combined with extensive professional work experience, may also be considered.

Work and life experience:

Admission to UOW is primarily based on your academic qualifications, with work or life experience generally not considered. If you do not meet the academic requirements for this course, we recommend exploring recognized pathway programs, such as those offered by UOW College or the TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC).

Domestic applicants with overseas qualifications:

UOW recognises a range of overseas higher education qualifications. Your qualifications will be assessed for equivalence to Australian qualifications and the admission requirements for this course. Documents issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by an official English translation.

English language proficiency:

All UOW courses are taught in English and require varying levels of proficiency. If English is not your first language, you must meet the University’s English Language Requirements, which differ by course.
Accepted international test results include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, and OET for specific health-related courses.
Alternatively, you can fulfill the requirement by completing an English course at UOW College.
