DiDi partnership with Master of Business IT student Richard RMIT students were asked to come up with ideas to make rideshare more accessible. Hear from Richard, a Master of Business Information Technology student, who gained valuable experience presenting to Didi. Transcript Hi, I am doing the Master of Business Information Technology at RMIT Uni. Our group's pitch mainly focuses on solving DiDi's wicked problem, primarily around the unequal access. We focused on solving the problems of wheelchair passenger discrimination and service animal discrimination and also child seat availability. We proposed our solutions through an implementation of in-app features and aligning those with the Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations. Like any business, we do have challenges, and accessibility in rideshare is one of them, namely with assistance animals, female participation in rideshare. We saw this as a really good opportunity to collaborate with RMIT to see what ideas that students can come up with. Some of the highlights from the presentations tonight were the way the students went about facing these challenges and even coming up with some ideas that we hadn't thought of. At DiDi, we're really looking for people with really good ideas and critical thinking ability, and that's really what we saw here today with the solutions to some of the problems that we set the RMIT students. So when I discovered that RMIT has a WIL program which is work-integrated-learning. That was really a deciding factor for me. This, the presentation is a part of the Business Research design subject. It is such a valuable opportunity to receive feedback in our presentation and have our presentation to be conducted in person rather than through a video. I'm currently a senior lecturer in Business Administration and Sustainable Business at the Graduate School of Business and Law. So the wicked problem for this semester is about unequal access in the car share economy. Co designed by DiDi and RMIT teaching team, students have done great coming up with various innovative ideas in line with the Sustainable Development Goals such as gender equality, economic growth to reduce inequality, sustainable communities and ownership for sustainability. This event happening tonight is for students to showcase their ideas and solution and we have selected four best groups to present and receive feedback from the industry partner. It's really insightful and it gave me the work experience that I needed to excel in my role in my career as a business analyst. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
