About This Course

CQUniversity’s Master of Business Management is designed for current and aspiring managers to develop strong business acumen, financial literacy and excellent interpersonal skills to progress in their management careers. With a solid foundation in management topics and the option to specialise in a range of fields, you will be well equipped to strategically manage organisations in the modern business environment across any sector.
This course is ideal for new or experienced managers who want to build on their current business knowledge and gain advanced knowledge of business management and a complementary discipline to suit their industry or career goals.
Throughout the course, you'll delve into discipline-specific core units that are designed to prepare you for the practical management of modern businesses. You'll study a diverse range of core units, from management and effective business communications to human resource management, marketing, managerial finance, and accounting for decision-making. Additionally, you'll benefit from a professional practice and career development unit that builds your understanding of contemporary perspectives on professional practice and allows for self-analysis and self-reflective practice in relation to your personal development needs.

As a student in this course, you can enjoy the opportunity to gain specialist knowledge in an area that complements your interests or career goals. You can choose from five majors, including emergency and health services management, human resource management, international business, leading organisational change, and marketing.
Your learning is enhanced throughout the course through a combination of face-to-face and online discussions and examinations of workplace case studies.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

To be eligible for entry into this course, applicants must hold:

a completed Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) equivalent Bachelor degree, or higher equivalent qualification.

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or the United States of America you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.

Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion of:

a secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) diploma level qualification, or
an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate IV qualification, or
a Bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA 4.0.

These qualifications must be completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or the United States of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores as below:

An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each subset; or
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT - Requires 75 or better overall and no score less than 17; or
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Requires an overall score of 54 with no sub-score less than 46; or
An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components.

English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.

Each applicant will be assessed individually.

Recommended study: Bachelor degree or equivalent qualifications in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
