About This Course

Studying a Master of Business with a Master of Business Analytics gives you the knowledge and skills to understand how organisations operate and how to use big data to analyse business performance. By studying both master's, you will build strong business foundations while developing the ability to use analytics to improve outcomes and drive innovation. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of core business disciplines, including management, strategy and organisational behaviour, and will develop the skills to apply this knowledge to real-world challenges. By completing this double master’s program, students will earn two master’s degrees in two years and build expertise in two in-demand areas of business. There is flexibility to choose the subjects that align with your professional development goals, allowing you to build your capability across key areas of organisational practice. The Master of Business Analytics develops advanced skills in data analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning, supporting evidence based decision making in contemporary organisations. You will work across the full analytics lifecycle, from preparing and managing data to designing dashboards and visual narratives. You will use descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics techniques, including forecasting, optimisation and AI‑driven insights, to support clear and effective decision‑making. You will work with industry tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, SAS Viya and advanced Excel. Learn to generate insights, align them with organisational objectives and communicate them clearly to decision‑makers. After finishing both master's degrees, you will be uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between business and analytics. You will be prepared to lead data-informed initiatives, contribute to digital transformation, create measurable competitive advantage, and turn complex insights into meaningful action.

General Requirements

Domestic Students

A recognised bachelor’s degree in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%. OR A Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%. OR A recognised master's degree in any discipline with an equivalent average mark of 50%. Other tertiary qualifications, combined with extensive professional work experience, may also be considered.

Work and life experience:

Admission to UOW is primarily based on your academic qualifications, with work or life experience generally not considered. If you do not meet the academic requirements for this course, we recommend exploring recognised pathway programs, such as those offered by UOW College or the TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC).

UOW recognises a range of overseas higher education qualifications. Your qualifications will be assessed for equivalence to Australian qualifications and the admission requirements for this course. Documents issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by an official English translation.

All UOW courses are taught in English and require varying levels of proficiency. If English is not your first language, you must meet the University’s English Language Requirements, which differ by course.
Accepted international test results include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, and OET for specific health-related courses.
Alternatively, you can fulfill the requirement by completing an English course at UOW College.
