Common Questions
Yes, this course has full accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). Graduates of the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology are eligible to apply for accreditation as Exercise Physiologists with ESSA. It is highly recommended that all graduates apply for accreditation with ESSA within 2 years of completing their degree, which is of particular importance for international students to ensure they meet ESSA's English Language requirements.
As part of the course, students are required to undertake 360 hours of clinical workplace experience, completed over 20 weeks at 40 hours per week within a range of health-related settings including public facilities (hospitals) and private clinics. Completion of these hours is required in order to graduate. Before commencing placement within a NSW Health facility, students must meet NSW Health's mandatory requirements for a police check, code of conduct, and immunisation/vaccination.
Applicants must hold a recognised bachelor's degree in Exercise Science of at least three years' duration, or have ESSA-approved Graduate Entry status. A minimum of 140 hours of supervised clinical placement with healthy populations prior to entry is also required. Places are limited and a minimum credit average across all completed undergraduate subjects is required to be considered competitive. Please note that allied health degrees such as medicine, physiotherapy, or nursing do not meet the minimum entry requirements. A Selection Supplement Form must also be provided with the application.
The indicative full-fee paying course fee for 2026 is $45,608, with a session fee of $15,203. However, in 2026, domestic students may be eligible for either a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) or a UOW-subsidised fee reduction of up to 75% off the listed fees. Fees are subject to change and will be confirmed at the time of offer.
As part of the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology, you will learn how to operate as an allied health professional within the Australian medical system and gain knowledge of compensation schemes such as Medicare, DVA, Workcover, and NDIS. You will also gain the knowledge and skills to potentially run your own business as a health care provider.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
