Eligibility
Academic Admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
Bachelor degree; or
Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.
English Language requirements (Band 4) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page;
Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
Other tests, courses or programs defined on the English Proficiency Bands page.

The estimated 1st year indicative fee for domestic students is AUD $23,400, while for international students it is AUD $37,700. Note that at ECU, you pay for the individual units you enrol in, not an overall course fee, so the total cost of your course will vary depending on what units you choose. ECU fees are adjusted annually.

The Master of Communication is available at ECU's City Campus, with both Semester 1 and Semester 2 intakes. Domestic students can study full-time or part-time, while international students can study full-time only.
You will develop the critical thinking, analytical and practical skills needed to meet the environmental, social, technological and governance challenges communicators and organisations face daily. The course covers strategic and digital communication, ethics, social inclusion, research methods, design thinking, visual communication, issues management, and crisis communication, culminating in a Communication Capstone project.
Graduates are prepared for senior career roles in communication fields, including positions such as Communication Officer, Digital Communication Manager, Corporate Communication Specialist, Social Media Manager, Reputation Manager, Stakeholder Relationship Manager, Public Relations Professional, Professional Communicator, Content Creator, and Engagement Officer, across sectors such as Government, not-for-profit, and corporate industries including health, sport, education, and finance.
