About This Course

The Master of Computing (Data Analytics) is committed to developing the next generation of computing professionals who possess broad knowledge and a deep understanding of technical, managerial, and ethical aspects of computing practices. The data analytics specialisation has a focus on applying cutting edge technologies to deliver data driven insights and intelligence. This degree is designed for both graduates with a computing background who wish to upskill, and graduates without a computing background who wish to enter the booming field of computing. It will enhance your work readiness skills by incorporating academic learning with practical application, with several subjects featuring embedded Work Integrated Learning. You will complete a capstone project, where you will apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations and tackle real-world problems often provided by our industry partners. On completion, you will be able to work in various roles to enable IT and data-driven innovation, including data analyst, big data specialist, data engineer, data architect, data systems developer, system analyst, software solution architect and developer.

Requirements

A recognised 3-year Bachelor degree in any area.
Applicants with other qualifications and substantial relevant professional experience may be considered.
Admission to UOW is primarily based on your academic qualifications, with work or life experience generally not considered.
If you do not meet the academic requirements for this course, recognised pathway programs such as those offered by UOW College or the TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) are available.
If you have completed or partially completed studies at an approved university or tertiary institution, you may be eligible for entry to UOW; you'll need to provide academic records, and your course must be at least one-sixth complete.
All UOW courses are taught in English and require varying levels of proficiency; if English is not your first language, you must meet the University's English Language Requirements.
Accepted international English test results include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, and OET for specific health-related courses.
Alternatively, you can fulfil the English requirement by completing an English course at UOW College.
