Common Questions
If you're a domestic student enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research program, you won't be required to pay tuition fees. The Australian Government provides domestic students with tuition fee offsets under the Research Training Program (RTP) for up to 2 years full-time (or equivalent) for Master by Research courses. Note that the RTP covers your tuition fees only — you will still be required to pay all other non-tuition fees applicable to your course, such as the Student Services and Amenities Fee.
Academic admission requirements (Band 8) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following: a Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline; or, where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.
The course is available for study in Semester 1 and Semester 2, both full-time and part-time, at the Joondalup campus or Online. There is no availability listed for the South West campus or Sri Lanka for domestic students.
Students will undertake a significant independent research investigation resulting in a thesis that will have relevance to the discipline areas of computing or security science. Students are required to continue re-enrolling in the thesis component (CSG6200 Master Thesis) of their study until the thesis is submitted for examination.
Graduates will be able to: reflect critically on a complex body of scientific knowledge, research principles and methods to demonstrate mastery in computing or security science; apply cognitive, technical and creative skills to investigate and research a complex computing or security science question; apply communication and collaboration skills to analyse, interpret, and disseminate research that contributes to computing or security science knowledge; and use high-level self-management skills to plan and execute a substantial piece of research.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
