The combined degree takes 2 years (6 semesters) to complete. Combined programs typically reduce the overall duration of study and corresponding tuition cost by 25 per cent compared to completing the two degrees separately.
The Master of Construction Practice is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), while the Master of Project Management is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM). Both programs are also accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Bond is the only university in Australia with programs recognised by all three leading project management industry bodies including RICS, PMI, and AIPM.
In Year 1, you will cover all the basics of construction, noting foundation construction subjects. During your project management program, you will cover four distinct study themes including strategy, sustainability, managing complex problems and teams, and virtual teams and global working. In Year 2, you will cover a range of topics across both programs including conflict resolution, effective integrated planning, management, measurement, finance and procurement, market performance, portfolio management, public and private sector investment, and risk identification. Your degree culminates in a research project of your choice, with academic supervisory support from a subject-matter expert.
Yes. From your first semester and throughout your studies, you will have the opportunity to go on industry field trips including the option to partake in a study tour to give you real-world industry experience. You will also engage with industry leaders and external speakers contributing to case studies and workshops, and the program includes site visits, workshops, and practical lessons as crucial parts of the curriculum.
Students graduate with a Master of Construction Practice and a Master of Project Management upon completion of the combined program. The degree is internationally recognised by the Project Management Institute (PMI), and the program code is SD-94005 with CRICOS code 086028K.
