The Master of Criminology can be completed in just one year full-time across 3 semesters, with intakes available in January, May, and September semesters, allowing you to graduate sooner with Bond's accelerated trimester timetable.
The Master of Criminology offers two program sequence options: Option 1 is a major research project completed over two semesters alongside coursework subjects, recommended for those interested in a future career in academia, research, or undertaking a PhD. Option 2 is a minor research project or portfolio of work that can be completed in one semester along with three general electives selected from available postgraduate subjects, recommended for those with a special crime-related interest or a topic beneficial for their career.
The criminology team includes leading Criminologist and former Detective Inspector Dr Terry Goldsworthy, as well as highly respected researchers and academics Dr Gaelle Brotto and Dr Tyler Cawthray, all of whom have written widely and are often asked to consult and comment on contemporary issues. Assistant Professor Dr Robyn Lincoln is also part of the team.

You will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues involving criminology theories, contemporary information on crime prevention, the theory and practice of punishment, criminal offenders, the police, courts and correctional institutions, including current crime and deviance issues. You will also gain knowledge and research skills and techniques required for the analysis of criminological issues, an understanding of how to critically evaluate published research, and knowledge of theories, prevention techniques, victims, and offenders in the cybersphere, and about justice institutions.
