12 credit point capstone unit incorporating work-related experience, attempted in the last semester after completion of all first-year units and four second-year units.

Yes. The Master of Cybersecurity may consist of 96, 72, or 48 credit points depending on your prior educational qualifications and relevant work experience. A 1.5-year full-time course (72 credit points) is available if you hold a bachelor degree plus 2 years of documented relevant work experience or a bachelor degree plus graduate certificate or equivalent. A 1-year full-time course (48 credit points) is available if you hold a bachelor degree plus 4 years of documented relevant work experience, a four-year bachelor honours degree or equivalent, or a bachelor degree plus graduate diploma or equivalent.
This course has a work integrated learning unit that may involve working on an industry project for a real client or undertaking a placement that involves attending a workplace of an approved host organisation. In such cases, you may be required to undertake a police check, working with children check, immunisation check, or other checks as required. The capstone unit (CYB815) incorporates this work-related experience and can only be attempted in the last semester of student candidature after completion of all first-year units and four second-year units.
Applicants must meet minimum English language proficiency requirements. Accepted tests include: IELTS with a minimum of 6.5 overall and no individual band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT with a minimum of 79 overall (Reading ≥19, Writing ≥24, Speaking ≥20, Listening ≥20); C1 Advanced/Cambridge English with 176 overall and no band less than 169; PTE Academic with 56 overall and no communicative skill less than 50; or Kaplan International Tools for English with 459 overall. Only the most recent test score will be considered and it must be less than two years old on the date the course commences.
Students are required to supply their own laptop and bring it to all classes. Due to the technological requirements of this course, it is recommended that students obtain a laptop with the following minimum specifications: Intel Core i7, at least 16GB of RAM, Cache Size 12MB or more, Primary HDD storage 256GB or more, Wireless networking IEEE 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and Operating System: Windows 11.
The Master of Cybersecurity will be seeking accreditation by the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Upon successful completion, the award conferred is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) at Level 9.
