Participating in industry-based project units is mandatory in the Master of Data Science. Through the capstone project, students are deeply involved in project execution with industry clients from external organisations or businesses to deliver usable solutions to real-world problems. Students achieving a credit average are also eligible to apply for an internship project unit (ICT80004) to work as an intern in industry.
For 2026, the indicative yearly tuition fee for international students is $34,610 AUD, with a total course fee of $69,220 AUD. For domestic students in a Commonwealth Supported Place, the yearly fee is $9,537 AUD with a total of $19,074 AUD. Fees are estimates only and subject to change based on individual circumstances at enrolment.
To qualify for the Master of Data Science, students must complete 200 credit points comprising twelve (12) core units (175 credit points) and two (2) elective units (25 credit points). The program is also structured so that completing 8 core units entitles students to a Graduate Certificate, and completing additional core and elective units entitles students to a Graduate Diploma.
