About This Course

The Master of Diagnostic Radiography is a postgraduate coursework degree that will prepare you for professional practice as a diagnostic radiographer. Over two years you will gain the skills to use the latest technology to produce high-quality medical images that can assist medical specialists to describe, diagnose, monitor and treat injury or illness. This program is accredited by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia and is an approved program of study for general registration. Graduates of this program will be eligible to register with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia. You will study core units in biosciences, diagnostic radiography, and clinical and professional practice units which you must pass in order to continue your studies. You will also complete a capstone project and 1050 hours of professional practice in the form of clinical placements across both the public and private sectors.

Requirements

Completed an accepted degree: All pages of official final academic transcript and degree testamur
Completing an accepted degree: provide all pages of your penultimate official academic transcript, with no more than 1 semester (0.5 FTE/24 credit points USYD equivalent) pending results
An accepted degree must be either: (a) a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD degree accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework from an Australian university or self-accrediting higher education institution; or (b) a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD degree from an overseas university listed in the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition Guide, provided that the degree is equivalent to an Australian bachelor's, master's degree or PhD degree under the Australian Qualifications Framework
Proof of identity: a valid passport (biodata page). Alternatively, an Australian birth certificate or Australian or New Zealand citizenship certificate for domestic students
Current or final official academic transcripts and their official English translation copy if the original transcripts were issued in a language other than English
Final testamur or proof of completion of your qualification and its official English translation copy if it was issued in a language other than English
Proof of English proficiency (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL results) where required
For courses with mandatory prerequisites, official detailed unit outlines for all prerequisite units in your studies which you believe will meet the prerequisite requirements
Evidence of residency status (passport or birth certificate or citizenship certificate)
Evidence of name change (marriage certificate etc.), if applicable
If your documents are not in English, they need to be officially translated into English by your institution and include the institution's official stamp on each page. Alternatively, you can have your document translated and certified by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI)

No deferrals are permitted for the Graduate Entry Master programs, including the Master of Diagnostic Radiography. The programs have strict deadlines to accept and enrol as there are limited places available.

Are Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) available for this program?

The majority of the Graduate Entry Master offers are full fee-paying places. There may be a small number of Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) available, and these are allocated on the basis of academic merit. Domestic students may also be eligible for the NSW Health Tertiary Health Study Subsidy Program.
