You will undertake approximately 850 hours of supervised practice in hospitals, community centres, aged care facilities, the food industry and other organisations. On campus, you'll also gain practical, hands-on experience in a modern dietetics demonstration space and in a student-led clinic where you'll practise applying your medical nutrition therapy theory with real clients.
When you graduate, you may be eligible for memberships with the Dietitians Association of Australia, Nutrition Society of Australia, Public Health Association of Australia, and Sports Dietitians Australia (as an Associate Member). Yes. If research is your passion, you can pursue this in your final year and complete an innovative project alongside leading Australian researchers in nutrition and dietetics, with national and international impact. You'll also have the potential to contribute to published scientific literature.
Additional costs include annual CPR re-certification (approximately $80 per year), a First Aid Certificate including CPR (approximately $130 renewed every 3 years), and costs for vaccinations and serology which are the responsibility of the student and will vary based on individual and program requirements. Students are also expected to fund travel and living expenses associated with placements, some of which may be outside the Brisbane metropolitan area.
Yes, the Bachelor of Nutrition Sciences / Master of Dietetics Studies is accredited by Dietitians Australia. The indicative annual fee for international students is AUD $58,056 for 2026, based on approximately 16 units per year. Fees are reviewed each year and may increase.
