Master of Digital Infrastructure Engineering

Digital infrastructure engineers work on the systems that connect the physical and digital world. They design the infrastructure for driving sustainable and resilient outcomes for businesses, projects, asset management, and ecosystems.

As a digital infrastructure engineering graduate, you'll work in industries on pressing problems and application solutions across Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), Facilities management, Humanitarian engineering, and Livability, sustainability, access, health, and resilience of our society.

The infrastructure sector in Australia is booming and relying on digital engineering tools like Building Information Modelling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twins and virtual reality. With digital systems required in many industries, you can meet the demand for skilled people to assist with the transition to digital strategies and systems.

Learn how to position infrastructure, observations, or events using digital resources like satellites, robots, or laser scanning. You'll integrate this data with statistics, machine learning and data simulations so you can visualise and communicate processes, patterns, and predictions.

If you have a relevant undergraduate major, you'll be able to complete the masters degree in 2 years. You'll have a broad range of options to specialise in infrastructure sectors, such as construction, smart cities, transport, energy, water, or surveying for land management; digital technologies, such as AI for data analytics, IT for cloud computing and web security, or IS for managing digital infrastructure; and management, such as on project management, or on entrepreneurship.
