Graduates of the Master of Divinity have advanced knowledge of sources, terms and concepts required in divinity and its related disciplines; have mastery of research principles and methods, including analytical and communication skills; have advanced skills of interpretation and critical reflection on a range of theological and related disciplines; articulate and communicate knowledge and insights to specialist and non-specialist audiences; and apply relevant theological and hermeneutical skills through the execution of a substantial research-based project, theological synthesis, or supervised ministry project.
The Master of Divinity requires the completion of 432 points (18 standard postgraduate units). Fees for 2026 are $3,384 per standard unit or $20,304 for a full-time year (6 units), with a total course cost of $60,912 at 2026 fees. Fees are subject to change from year to year.
The Master of Divinity consists of 432 points, including: 48 points at postgraduate level in biblical or associated languages; at least 120 and no more than 144 points at postgraduate foundational level (48 points in Biblical Studies, 48 points in Christian Thought and History, 24 points in Practical Theology); at least 192 points and not more than 240 points at postgraduate elective level (24 points each in Biblical Studies, Christian Thought and History, and Practical Theology); and either a capstone unit (at least 24 points) or a Minor Thesis (RQ9748M, 48 points).
Graduates of the Master of Divinity can progress to a Doctor of Philosophy or a Doctor of Professional Practice.

Overseas students have access to Classroom, Limited mixed, and Online (off-shore students only) modes at selected colleges.
