Master of Economics and Resource Policy

The Master of Economics and Resource Policy is a flexible two-year degree built around core economic principles, aimed at shaping policy that safeguards economic stability, protects the environment and promotes social equity.
The degree teaches you to dissect the choices made by individuals, governments and businesses and their consequences for people and societies, and develops skills in the economics of resource allocation and policy.
First year builds knowledge in core areas, covering the economic principles, concepts, data and analytical frameworks used to understand the world; economic and marketing theories in the context of global food and agricultural production; and the relationship between trade and development. Topics across the degree include global food and agricultural markets, principles of international trade and development, and cost-benefit analysis, alongside advising on business strategy to optimise company performance within economic environments.
Four specialisations are available: Economic Analysis, Global Food and Agribusiness, International Trade, and Public Economics and Policy. You also undertake a research component.
Teaching is by economic researchers and scholars, and the program draws on the university's connections across South Australian businesses and government agencies.
The program totals 96 units over two years at the Adelaide City Campus, with February and July intakes.
