The Master of Education offers five specialisations: Digital Technologies for Learning, Educational Leadership, Interdisciplinary Studies, TESOL, and Special Education. Please note that Special Education is not available to international students.
For domestic students studying on campus at Wollongong in 2026, the session fee is $9,938 and the total indicative course fee is $29,815. These fees are subject to change from year to year; however, your fees will be fully confirmed at the time of your offer.
For Educational Leadership, you need either: a recognised bachelor's degree with an equivalent mark of 50% in education or teaching plus a postgraduate qualification in any discipline or one year of full-time professional experience in the education field; OR a recognised bachelor's degree in any discipline plus a postgraduate qualification in education or teaching or two years of full-time professional experience in the education field.
The Master of Education has two intakes per year. For Autumn 2026, the session starts 2 March 2026, with application deadlines of 9 December 2025 for international students and 31 December 2025 for domestic students. For Spring 2026, the session starts 27 July 2026, with application deadlines of 5 May 2026 for international students and 31 May 2026 for domestic students.
Yes. Applicants with a major study in Education plus three years' teaching experience may be eligible for credit for one session of study (24 credit points). An additional 6 credit points may be granted for completion of the Sydney Catholic Schools Gifted Education Online 1 (GEOG1) and Gifted Education Online 2 (GEOG2) modules. If you have completed prior studies or relevant professional experience, you can request course credit or subject exemptions to reduce the duration and cost of your program.
