The Master of Education is aimed largely at classroom practitioners — specifically qualified, practising teachers who want to upgrade their expertise and credentials with a view to enhancing the effectiveness of their teaching. It is also suitable for educators in Christian Education National schools and other educational systems, and may be undertaken by students studying online overseas.
The Master of Education can be completed in 1 year full time, or part time over up to 7 years. Part time study is structured as one subject per semester, equalling eight semesters over a maximum of seven years.
The Master of Education is an eight-subject (80 credit point) postgraduate course. It requires completion of four core subjects (Biblical Foundations of Education, Worldviews and Educational Practice, Curriculum Development in Christian Schools, and Reflective Pedagogy) plus four elective subjects. One elective must be a Capstone subject for course completion.
The fee is $2,675 per subject, and FEE-HELP is available for eligible domestic students.
This course is delivered by the National Institute for Christian Education (NICE) on behalf of Alphacrucis University College. NICE is a postgraduate training institute that has been developing Christian educators since 1979. The Graduate Certificate of Education is a nested award within the Master of Education, allowing flexibility for students who may wish to start with a postgraduate course before committing to a full Master of Education.
