For domestic students, Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available with a 2026 indicative CSP first year fee of $4,500 and an indicative CSP fee to complete the degree of $9,500. For domestic students paying full fees, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $33,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $67,500. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year fee is $47,000 and the indicative fee to complete the degree is $98,500. All fees are subject to annual review and are a guide only.
The duration depends on your entry pathway and prior experience. The program can take 1–2 years full time or 2–4 years part time. Students granted 48 UOC block credit complete the program in approximately 1 year full time; those granted 24 UOC block credit complete it in approximately 1.7 years full time; and students with no block credit complete 96 UOC, equivalent to 2 years full time.
The UNSW Master of Educational Leadership is designed to fit around your work and life commitments. Study options include fully online and blended courses, intensive school holiday courses, self-directed learning and evening classes. The program is available face-to-face (including blended) and online, with the campus located at Kensington. Commencing terms are Term 1, 2 and 3.
The UNSW Master of Educational Leadership includes a mix of core courses, electives, research methodology and a project or minor thesis. Students must complete 96 units of credit (UOC) in total. The program covers recent developments in educational leadership theory, research and practice and hones problem-solving and communication skills. It also includes a Work Integrated Learning capstone project, a minor thesis or a capstone research project, undertaken with support from a supervising academic.

You can choose from a wide range of electives from Motivation in Educational Settings to Coaching and Mentoring in Educational Leadership. There are electives suitable for diverse educational settings, including primary schools, secondary schools, universities, TAFE or early childhood learning.
