Common Questions
Yes, the Master of Engineering and its specialisations are accredited by Engineers Australia. However, the Management major is not included in this accreditation. As accreditation is outcomes-based, if an engineering course or program hasn't yet produced a sufficient number of graduates, it may be granted provisional accreditation, meaning the program meets the accreditation criteria to the extent possible at the time of the evaluation and will likely receive full accreditation when a representative group of graduates have emerged.
The Master of Engineering offers the following specialisations: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Management, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Telecommunications Engineering.
The indicative full-fee paying session fee is $18,327 (2026), with a total indicative course fee of $73,308 (2026). However, in 2026, domestic students may be eligible for either a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) or a UOW-subsidised fee reduction of up to 75% off the fees listed. Fees are subject to change and will be confirmed at the time of your offer.
Yes, if you have completed prior studies or relevant professional experience, you can request course credit or subject exemptions to reduce the duration and cost of your program. Credit for prior learning evaluates your previous study or work experience related to your chosen subjects. UOW values lifelong learning and recognizes various types of prior learning, regardless of how or where it was obtained.
For Autumn Session 2026 (starting 2 March 2026), the application deadline is 9 December 2025 for international students and 31 December 2025 for domestic (direct) applicants. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
