Common Questions
Yes, the CV82 Master of Engineering course is fully accredited by Engineers Australia. Graduates are recognised as professional engineers and are eligible for Graduate membership with Engineers Australia. This applies to the Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Majors, provided students achieve a minimum GPA of 4.1 after completing 48 credit points of study.
To continue in your second year with the industry-accredited Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Majors, you must achieve a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.1 after completing 48 credit points of study. If you do not meet this requirement, you will switch to the non-accredited Professional Major at the start of your second year, where you will complete a team project over one term and have the option to choose elective units that may lead to a Graduate Certificate in Project Management or Graduate Certificate in Information Technology.
Students undertake a 12-week industry experience at a nominated engineering company in the 3rd term of the course, accounting for a minimum of 300 hours of engineering practice. As per Engineers Australia's accreditation requirements, all CV82 students must show proof of having acquired 480 hours of engineering practice in total. The remaining 180 hours of experience will be acquired through participation in industry seminars, guest lectures by industry experts, workshops, and similar activities throughout their candidature.
The Master of Engineering offers four major pathways: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (all industry-accredited), and a non-accredited Professional Major. In your first year, you will study Australian Engineering Practice along with core and discipline-specific elective units in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering before continuing into your chosen major in the second year.
Yes, for some units, students enrolled in the Online mode are expected to attend Rockhampton or Melbourne campus to complete laboratory activities. For example, Geotechnical Engineering Design (ENEC28001) is noted as having a residential school component.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
