Common Questions
RMIT typically offers three intakes per year: Semester 1 starting in late February or early March, Semester 2 (midyear) starting in July, and Semester 3 starting in September, October, or November depending on the course. Not all courses are available in every intake, so you should check the specific course page or contact Study@RMIT to confirm which intakes are available for this program.
International students can apply through RMIT's Application Portal. You will need to provide academic transcripts and graduation certificates, evidence of your English language proficiency, and any additional course-specific documents. It is recommended to accept your offer at least 4–8 weeks before your course start date to allow for application assessment, visa processing, and arrival in Australia. You can also apply with the support of an RMIT-authorised agent.
The Master of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) is listed in RMIT's international tuition fees database. The 2026 annual fee is listed as AU$47,040 for international students (this figure appears in the context of engineering programs on the page). Domestic students may be eligible for Commonwealth Supported Places. Tuition fees are invoiced on a semester basis and may increase by up to 7.5% at the beginning of each calendar year. Visit RMIT's fees page or the specific course page for the most up-to-date fee information.
RMIT's engineering programs are accredited by Engineers Australia and recognised under the Washington Accord, an international agreement that mutually recognises engineering qualifications across 18 signatory countries including the USA, UK, China, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Canada, India and others. This means your qualification may be recognised if you choose to work internationally.
RMIT offers pathways and credit transfer opportunities that may reduce the duration of your qualification based on previous study. Opportunities for credit, advanced standing and recognition of prior learning can be found under the Pathways section of the program page on the RMIT website, or within RMIT's Admission and Credit Policy. International students can also explore international pathway packages via RMIT's international pathways page.
Detailed information about the course structure, units, entry requirements (including any academic prerequisites and English language requirements), and intake availability can be found on the Master of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) program page on the RMIT website. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
