Yes, this online Master's degree is fully accredited by Engineers Australia under the Washington Accord. It is internationally recognized through the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) and its signatory countries, ensuring global recognition of the qualification and alignment with international engineering education standards. The course is also classified as Level 9 under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and accredited by TEQSA.
To gain entry, applicants must hold either a Pathway A: Australian Bachelor Degree (or international equivalent) in a congruent field of engineering practice, or Pathway B: Australian Bachelor Degree with Honours (or international equivalent) in a congruent field of engineering practice. All applicants must also have evidence of mechanical exposure at undergraduate level and/or work experience, and an appropriate level of English Language Proficiency equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no individual band less than 6.0) or equivalent.
The Master of Engineering (Mechanical) is a comprehensive two-year (24 months) program delivered fully online. It is delivered over 4 terms per year, each of 12 weeks. Students are expected to spend approximately 10 hours per unit, per week. After enrolment, the maximum time allowed to complete all units is 5 years.
This course may use the following software: Interactive Heat Transfer (IHT) software, Automation Studio, ANSYS CFX/FLUENT, ANSYS SpaceClaim, ANSYS Meshing, ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS Workbench, GasTurb, and SolidWorks with SolidCAM. Please note that due to ongoing unit and course reviews, software may change from the list provided.
A key component of the program is a capstone Project Thesis (unit code ME700, worth 12 credit points), which synthesizes the knowledge gained throughout the course. This project not only deepens your understanding but also enhances your creativity and design-thinking skills, qualities highly valued by employers. The final Project Thesis requires significant personal autonomy and accountability, and promotes critical evaluation, creativity, and initiative, allowing you to critically assess current practices in the mechanical engineering field.
