The course offers six specialisations: Civil Infrastructure Engineering, Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics and Automation Engineering, and Smart Manufacturing.
To complete the Master of Engineering (Professional), you must pass 8, 12, or 16 credit points. The number required may vary depending on your entry point or how much credit you receive as recognition of prior learning (RPL) based on your professional experience and previous qualifications.
Through SEL703 Professional Practice, you'll gain industry experience by completing at least 30 to 60 days of practical work experience in an engineering workplace. This gives you the opportunity to explore potential career paths and build valuable professional networks, and assessment tasks will deepen your understanding of the engineering profession and strengthen your professional practice skills.
The estimated tuition fee for a full-fee paying place is $36,600 for one year full-time. This is provided as a guide only and represents the typical first-year tuition fees; the actual cost will vary depending on the units you choose, your study load, the length of your course, and any approved Recognition of Prior Learning. Students may also be eligible for a HELP loan (FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP) depending on their course, type of fee place, and citizenship or residency status.
Yes, you may be able to study available units in the optional third trimester to fast-track your degree, however your course duration may be extended if there are delays in meeting course requirements, such as completing a placement. The course is available at Waurn Ponds (Geelong) with intakes in Trimester 1 (March), Trimester 2 (July), and Trimester 3 (November). Direct applications for Trimester 2 2026 close 21 June 2026, and for Trimester 3 2026 close 18 October 2026.
