Yes. You may be able to complete your Master of Engineering Science in as little as one year, depending on your specialisation and previous experience. Recognition of Prior Learning considers your undergraduate degree, any prior study and relevant professional experience, and may enable you to complete the program in an accelerated timeframe.
For domestic students, the 2026 indicative Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) first year fee is $9,500, with an indicative CSP fee to complete the degree of $19,000. For domestic students paying full fees, the 2026 indicative first year fee is $45,000, with an indicative full fee to complete the degree of $92,500. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year fee is $61,000, with an indicative full fee to complete the degree of $127,000. All fees are subject to annual review and are a guide only.
The program is a two-year degree totalling 96 Units of Credit (UOC). Students complete a combination of disciplinary courses (at least four), advanced disciplinary courses (at least four), engineering and technical management courses (at least one), enquiry-based courses including a research project (at least three), and elective courses (at least four). The structure varies depending on your chosen specialisation, course selection and timetable.
The Master of Engineering Science commences in Term 1, Term 2, and Term 3, providing multiple intake opportunities throughout the year. UNSW encourages applicants to submit their completed application as early as possible to ensure it is processed in time for their preferred term.
