The program offers 23 engineering specialisations and 15 commerce specialisations. Engineering specialisations include Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology, Project Management, Structural Engineering, Sustainable Systems, Transport Engineering, Water Engineering: catchments to coasts, and Water, Wastewater and Waste Engineering, among others. In Commerce, you can choose from 15 specialisation areas and complete core and gateway courses along with a capstone or practicum.
The standard program duration is 1.5 to 3 years, depending on your chosen specialisations, study load and Recognition of Prior Learning. Students with eligible prior study or professional experience may reduce their degree duration by up to one and a half years, with up to 72 Units of Credit (UOC) potentially awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning.
For 2026, the indicative first year full fee for international students is $61,500, with an indicative full fee to complete the degree of $197,000. For domestic students, Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available, with an indicative CSP first year fee of $13,000 and an indicative CSP fee to complete the degree of $40,000. Full-fee domestic students can expect an indicative first year fee of $43,500 and $137,000 to complete. All fees are subject to annual review.
Students must complete 144 Units of Credit (UOC) in total. In the Engineering component, you choose from 23 specialisations and study a mix of disciplinary, advanced disciplinary, enquiry-based, engineering and technical management, and elective courses. In the Commerce component, you complete core and gateway courses, specialise in one of 15 areas, and undertake electives plus a capstone or practicum course. Degree structures vary depending on chosen specialisations and course selection.
The program commences in Term 1, Term 2 and Term 3, offering multiple intake opportunities throughout the year. Applications must be submitted through UNSW's Apply Online portal, and the program is based at the Kensington campus. International students should note that some programs may be at capacity for 2026 intakes, but applications to all 2027 intakes are open.
