Eligibility
Academic Admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
Bachelor degree; or
Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.
English Language requirements (Band 4) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0); or
Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page; or
Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent); or
Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or

Yes. Students enrolling in this course are required to complete one semester of study on location at Tokyo City University (TCU) in Japan. In their final semester, students will complete research-based units at TCU remotely from ECU and supported by ECU staff. Students also have the option of completing a 2-week internship in Japan during their course.
In Year 1 Semester 1, ECU students study three ECU units (Biostatistics, Environmental Impact Assessment Procedures, and Integrated Environmental Management). In Year 1 Semester 2, all students study Management of Information Systems and Projects plus two core option units. In Year 2 Semester 1, students complete TCU units and have the option of a 2-week internship in Japan. In Year 2 Semester 2, ECU students complete two Special Research units (TCU) remotely from their home country, and must defend their thesis at a Thesis Committee to graduate.

Graduates will be able to: reflect critically on a complex body of specialist knowledge and understanding of recent developments and methods applicable to the field of Environmental Science and related disciplines; apply cognitive, technical and creative skills drawn from a broad discipline base to investigate, analyse and synthesise complex ideas, concepts and theories in Environmental Science; apply communication skills to design innovative contributions to professional practice in Environmental Science; and use high level self management skills to initiate, plan and execute a substantial project in Environmental Science.
